Poker hand history is a tool that can be used to your advantage to gain insight on the playing styles of your opponents when playing poker online.  There are many people who do not realize that they can see a history of how each hand is played at their table, and most importantly, the cards of the players – if the hand finished with the players showing down their hands. 

Hand history is automatically logged and can usually be downloaded or emailed.  Just like you would normally do when studying opponents, use the records in the hand history to get a sense of what types of cards your opponents play, how they bet, and other dynamics of their playing style.  In offline play, you should be keep track and memorizing the cards players show to have a mental hand history to improve your game.

One other feature that many players don’t realize is contained in the hand history of many online poker rooms is that you can see ALL hole cards of players that called down the hand to the end, even if they do not show the cards in live game play.
